1 Samuel 29:6 God is in Control
Then Achish called David, and said unto him, Surely, as
the LORD liveth, thou hast been
upright, and thy going out and thy coming in with me in the host is good in my
sight: for I
have not found evil in thee since the day of thy coming unto me unto this day:
nevertheless
the lords favour thee not.
1 Samuel 29:6
It is interesting to me
how if God had allowed David and his men to find favor in the eyes of
the Philistines they would have been a part of the army that killed Saul and his
sons. Often as
we go through life we find even when we are doing what is right
we may not find favor with those who are in authority over us. And, it seems
unfair. At times we forget that God
is in control. We
as Christians must learn to remember that God always does the
most loving thing for us.

John 3:18-20
The Light in the Darkness
“He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that
believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of
the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come
into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds
were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh
to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.”
John 3:18-20
Perhaps this is why atheists and liberals seemingly
"hate"
Christians and the Gospel. Matthew 5:14-16
says “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be
hid. Neither
do men
light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth
light unto
all that
are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your
good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” As Christians, our
light exposes us to the world. People are drawn to the light either way. Some
come to the light in their quest for truth and answers. Others come to the light
because they want to snuff it out. We are warned in
2 Timothy 3:12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”
We
will suffer
persecution as Christians because evil men will hate our light. Just remember in
Matthew 10:22
we are given a promise, “And ye shall be hated of
all men for My name’s sake:
but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
