In the beginning
"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning…God.
In the beginning, there was God.
God created the heaven and the earth.
“The heavens
declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.
Day unto day uttereth speech,
and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor
language, where their voice
is not heard.”
Psalm 19:1-3
God created all things.
“For by Him were all things
created, that are in heaven, and that are in the earth, visible and invisible,
whether they be thrones,
or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things
were created by Him, and for Him.”
Colossians 1:16
God and man are together
“And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after
Our
likeness: and let them have dominion over all the earth, and over
every creeping
thing that
creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in His own image, in the
image of God created He
him; male and female created He them.”
Gen 1:26, 27
God created you and me. “For we are
His
handiwork created by Christ Jesus unto good works.”
God breathed into man the
breath of life so that God and
man might be together,
so that God and man might have fellowship together.
Sin enters the world
God created a perfect world for Adam and
Eve to live and fellowship with Him forever. He provided the beautiful and
complete
Garden of Eden for them to enjoy.
He commanded them to be fruitful and
multiply, to replenish the earth. God warned them
not to eat the fruit of one tree.
“But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou
shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely
die.” Genesis 2:17
Adam and Eve disobeyed God. When they disobeyed God, sin
(anything that displeases God) entered the world.
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered
into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all
have sinned:” Romans 5:12
Sin separates God and man
When sin entered the world, sin separated God and man.
God is a Holy God and cannot have fellowship with sin. The Bible
tells us that
all have sinned.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one:”
Romans 3:10
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God:”
Romans 3:23
Sin
separated God and man. Sin entering the world meant man would spend an eternity
separated from God.
Jesus comes
God loves you and I so much that He provided a way for
God and man to be together again, for you and I to have a personal
and intimate
relationship with
God for all eternity.
"For God
so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth
in Him should not perish, but
have everlasting life.”
John 3:16
God sent His Son to provide the way. They called him Jesus. He lived and
died to bear our sins. Jesus, the spotless
Lamb of God, came into the world to
provide himself a sin payment for you and I. He was born of a virgin, lived a
perfect life,
was crucified on a cross, and rose again victoriously the third
day.
“And that He was buried, and that He rose again the
third day according to the Scriptures:” 1 Corinthians 15:4
Jesus lives. He is our Savior. The death, burial and resurrection of our Savior
and Lord Jesus Christ paid the price for my sins
and for your sins. Jesus came
that we might live.
“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn
the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.”
John 3:17
Jesus bridges the gap
There is no need to be separated from God forever, for
Jesus lives and has offered you and I a bridge to the Father. Simply
believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ
and what He did for you and I on that cross.
“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that,
while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Romans 5:8
Jesus
offers you and I a free gift, the gift of salvation from eternal separation from
God. Our sin separates us from God.
Our faith in what Jesus has done for
us
bridges that gap.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is
eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23
The Bible tells us that if we
confess our sins, God will forgive us and take away our sins.
"If we confess our sins, He is
faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.." 1 John 1:9
The Bible tells us that whosoever calls upon the
name of the Lord will be saved. Whosoever means you. Whosoever means
me.
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved." Romans 10:13
The Bible tells us it is by grace that we are saved.
Grace is unmerited favor. God gives us a gift, the gift of salvation, because
of
His Love and Mercy.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should
boast. For we are His
workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God
hath before ordained that we
should walk in them."
Ephesians 2:8-10
"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but
according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration,
and renewing
of the
Holy Ghost;"
Titus 3:5
God and man are together
It is God's Will for all men to be saved. He wants you
and I to live forever in heaven with Him. Have you allowed Jesus to
bridge
the gap for you and to
make a way for and God to be together for all eternity? Have you admitted that you are a sinner?
Have you accepted that without a
Savior, you and God
cannot be together? Have you declared that you believe Jesus
lived
a perfect life, died, was buried and resurrected the third day? Have you
believed that
Jesus can and has paid the price for
your sin and asked Him to
save you from eternal separation from God? Have you repented that you are a
sinner
(turned from
your wicked ways) and committed your life to follow Christ
according to the scriptures? If you have done these things, then,
my friend, the Bible
says simply and clearly you are and will be saved.
“For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord
shall be saved.” If you have
never done this, please
take a minute right now to say a prayer and ask God to
save you.
You might say a prayer something like this:
Father, I know I am a sinner and I need a Savior. Please
forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and save me.
I accept what Jesus
has done on
the cross for me. I accept His payment for my sin. I confess Jesus
as my Lord and Savior.
I ask you to save me from my sin and to take me to heaven
to live forever with You when I die. In Jesus Name, Amen.
If you just prayed that prayer or one like
it, and you are acknowledging you are now a believer
and follower of Jesus Christ
and
are saved according to the
Scriptures, please let us know by clicking on the
I Just Got Saved box. We rejoice with you
in your decision and would like to
hear from you so we can
pray for you and encourage you in your new walk with
God.
