November Bible Insights

Joel 2:1            The Day of the Lord is Nigh
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain: let all the inhabitants
of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;
Joel 2:1

The day of the Lord is coming and some believe that it is coming very soon. The question is,
how should we prepare for it? What should we do? I believe the best way to prepare is to
have “a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward man” and in everything
we do we should be an example to the non-believer. When the LORD, comes everyone will tremble, but let us pray and strive to make it where there are more trembling with delight
than trembling with fear.

Micah 6:8            God's Requirements
“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but
to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?”
Micah 6:8

He has shown us through His Word what is good. “Therefore to him that knoweth to do
good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”
James 4:17 What does God require? To do justly.
“For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The
just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:17 We must rely on our faith in God and His word in order
to be truly just. To love mercy.
Jesus said, "Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain
mercy."
Matthew 5:7 It is our duty to be merciful. In so doing, we honor God. To walk humbly
with thy God.
“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may
exalt you in due time:”
1 Peter 5:6 Sometimes it can be easy to get overwhelmed about how
we should act or handle situations. But what God requires is very simple. Do justly, love
mercy, and walk humbly with Him.

1 John 3:1,13            Love Those
Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called
the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Marvel
not, my brethren, if the world hate you.
1 John 3:1, 13

As we live the Christian life we sometimes meet people that just do not like us, and at
times it is hard to understand. You may think, what did I ever do to them? Do not let it
hurt your feelings. The world did not except Christ, and if we walk in His path how can
we expect anything different. Instead praise the Lord that we have the promise of eternal
life, and reach out to those people and show them the love that has been bestowed upon
you.
