Exodus 14:13
Fear Not
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation
of the LORD, which He will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have
seen to day, ye shall see
them again no more for ever. Exodus
14:13
Trapped between the Egyptians
and the Red Sea, the children of Israel had to stand still and
wait for God to
work. How hard it must have been for them to see the Egyptians charging
toward
them with no where to go! But God moved and the Red Sea parted. God's Salvation
was theirs. Often
as we go through life we meet with seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
It is so
hard to stand
still and wait upon the Lord. Yet, if we do, we find that what is
unmanageable for
us, God can do with ease. We must remember that no matter how much
we feel stuck
between
a rock and a
hard place, an enemy and an impasse, a stronghold and
an addiction, God will always show us
a way out.

Exodus 16:5
God is Fair
"And it shall come to pass, that on
the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and
it shall be twice
as much as they gather daily."
Exodus 16:5
Each
morning God provided manna (honey bread from Heaven) for the Jews to eat when
they
were in the wilderness. If the Jews gathered more than they could eat on
the first five days of the week, the manna would rot. However, in this
verse God commands the Jews to prepare for the Sabbath by gathering extra manna on
the sixth day. The extra manna gathered on the sixth day stayed fresh and did
not rot. God provided a way for the Jews to obey the Sabbath. As I have
read and studied the Bible, I have observed that when God gives commandments, He provides whatever we need to
obey them. God is fair. Though sometimes He asks us to do things that
may seem impossible
to do to our human brains, if we will simply
walk in faith and do them, we will find what He is asking us to do is not quite as hard
as we think. God is fair...obey Him. NEN - E
Exodus 24:12-13
God is Grooming Me
“And the LORD said unto Moses, Come up to Me into the mount, and be there:
and I will give
thee tables of stone, and a law, and commandments which I have
written; that thou mayest
teach them. And Moses rose up, and his minister
Joshua: and Moses went up into the mount
of God."
Exodus 24:12-13
It is interesting to me, how of all the Israelites
there that day, Joshua, was the only one to be chosen to go up the mount with
Moses. It is amazing that years before Joshua would lead the Israelites, God was
already grooming him for that role. I wonder what role He could be grooming me
for today. NEN
Exodus 39:30-32a
The Golden Plate
And they made the
plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and wrote upon it a writing, like to
the engravings of a signet, HOLINESS TO THE LORD. And they tied unto it a lace
of blue,
to fasten it on high upon the mitre; as the LORD commanded Moses. Thus was all
the work
of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished:
Exodus 39:30-32a
How significant that after the Israelites
had completed all the intricate details of building the tabernacle, their last
and finishing touch was to make a plate that said HOLINESS TO THE LORD.
Did you know the Bible
says that our bodies are a temple or tabernacle for God? Just
as it
was the Jews responsibility to keep the tabernacle holy, it is our
responsibility to keep
our body holy. A neat way to think of keeping our body holy is when we become a
Christian,
we receive a
Holiness
to the Lord plate that gets tied to our heart. It is pure gold and has a
beautiful shine. As we begin to grow, satan starts attacking us and throwing
temptations at us. Every time we succumb, our Golden Plate gets smudged. The more smudges
our
plate gets,
the less it shines and the more unhappy we feel inside. Fortunately, when that happens, if
we
will ask for forgiveness, then we are forgiven and our plate is polished again. It
sometimes hurts
as the tough spots are polished down, but overall we feel better
about ourselves. Then as we continue our Christian walk and are faithful in what
God tells us to do, our plate begins to shine brighter and brighter. However, as
we grow in our
faith, satan often attacks again to try and stop us. Using every temptation he can,
he rolls up his
sleeves and tries to smudge our plate.
What do we do? How can we have victory over his attacks? We need to use smudge
repellant daily. When we become a Christian, we receive
the ability to use the ultimate smudge repellent,
God’s Word. This smudge repellant, known as the Bible, promises to teach us the
good and
right way, to help us overcome temptations, to be a light to our feet and a lamp
to our path in
our quest to finish the work God calls us to. It works...if we use it. Unfortunately, sometimes
we become lax and forget to put
on the smudge repellent by reading, studying and memorizing
God's Word. The devil
waits for this open door of opportunity and runs in to put a smudge on
our
holiness plate. Thankfully, if we pray, and ask forgiveness, God forgives us and polishes
the
plate once more.
Our Christian walk is a constant
battle between
us and the devil over keeping our plates shining and free of smudges. Is my
plate shiny or smudged? Have I used my smudge repellant today?
