Numbers 9:18
When He says Obey
"At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the
commandment
of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they
rested in their tents." Numbers 9:18
When God said move, the Israelites
moved, and when God said stay, they stayed. Why does
it seem many
Christians do not do this? So often it feels like when God tells
Christians
to move, they want to stay, and when He says stay, they want to move. Now I know
that sometimes it is hard to figure out what God wants us to do. We as
Christians are not always
as lucky as the Israelites in getting precise instructions such as a cloud to
lead us. I am not talking about
those unclear times. I am talking about the times when a person knows deep
down
inside what they are supposed to do, but
they just do not want to do it. As Christians we can not behave this way. We must
remember God never asks us to do anything we cannot manage, and He always
has our best interest at heart. When He says go, we must go. When
He says stay,
we must stay. And, when we are truly unsure as to His will, we
must pray for wisdom and understanding. If we will do this, then someday, we too
will make
it to our promised land. NEN
Numbers 14:2
Look Forward
"And all the children of Israel
murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto
them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died
in this wilderness!" Numbers 14:2
How often the children of Israel said
something to this effect. I think it would be safe to say almost every time
they had a down fall or tackled a difficult situation, they said it. They forgot God was with them and had
everything under control. We, as Christians, sometimes make this mistake as
well. We need to remember no matter what is happening, God can and will help us
take care of it. If He has told us to do something, He will open the doors we have to go through to do it.
If we have a fight to fight, He will
give us the weapons to fight it. Christians, we must keep on our guard against
the temptation to murmur when things do not go our way. We must not look back at
what could have been, or we wish had been, but rather we must look forward at
what can be. Look forward..the future is ahead.

Numbers 23:19
God Is Not Man
"God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He
should repent: hath He said, and shall He not do it? or hath He spoken, and
shall He not make it good?"
Numbers 23:19
So often when we are going through
a hard time and satan is throwing doubts and fears our way, we forget this
verse. God is not a man. He has given us many promises in the Bible that
because He is God, we can trust Him at His Word. No matter how bleak our situation may look, we
can cling to those promises and know that everything will work out for good in
the end. God is not man...trust Him.
