

1. Pray for his ministry and his family.
2. Send a card, note of appreciation or an email to thank him for all he
does.
3. Attend, get involved and assist with church services and activities.
4. Be his friend. Remember "a friend loveth at all times." Make
sure to show him he is loved.
5. Send he and his wife on a date or somewhere romantic for a weekend
alone. Plan special
activities for their children.
6. Give he and his family some "just because" fun money.
7. Go to his office sometime with a solution - not a problem.
8. Share insights from your Bible reading. It will encourage him to know
you are reading and
give him a different perspective.
9. Compliment a sermon. Make sure to tell him at least one specific way it
impacted you.
10. Establish a We Love Pastor night. Plan a pot luck with his favorite
foods, games, etc.
11. Send the whole family on a camping trip.
12. Plan a Church-wide surprise party for his birthday.
13. Buy him a phone card to keep up with long distance friends and
family.
14. Take his whole family shopping for a new Sunday outfit.
15. Respect their family time. Try to contact him during office hours.
If it can wait, let it.
16. Get him a Nickerson Family Singers music CD or a CD from one of his
other favorite groups
17. Invite them over for dinner or take a meal over for the family and
just drop it off. Don't forget
to make his favorite dessert!
18. Sponsor him for a Mount N SHEPHERDS retreat or another pastoral
retreat designed for
encouraging and equipping him.
19. Give him gift certificates - his favorite restaurant, coffee shop,
book store, sports shop,
grocery store, etc.
20. Take him on a fun day - fishing, hunting, biking - Invite his boys
to join you.
21. Make a pastor's family survival kit. Be creative.
22. Remember a hug can make everything okay.
23. Plan an old-fashioned pounding in October. Make sure to include
items they will need for
making holiday goodies.
24. Volunteer to mow the lawn, clean the house, wash the car, babysit
the children, serve them.
25. Organize a list of available church talent. Give your pastor and his
family a “Business
Needs”
Directory with free coupons for services from members of your
church.
Examples: A telephone man might install 2 phone jacks in the
room of their choice.
An owner of a mechanic shop could offer a free
tune-up, oil change, etc.
How about new or used discounted tires for
their vehicle?
Free suit or dress dry cleaning for a specified number of
items?
New ceiling fan installation, outdoor lighting, or other electrical improvement by a church
electrician?
A bouquet of flowers
from a florist?
Specialty birthday cakes from a cake decorator?
Leaky
sinks or busted pipes fixed by a plumber?
Help with taxes from an
accountant?
Free haircuts from a beautician?
Certain number
of car
washes from the youth group?
Mending from a seamstress?
Computer tune-up
from a geek?
Music lessons from a
musician?
Family portrait from a
photographer?
