Call to Witness

The house is on fire. The family looks out the windows crying for help. People watch in shock.
No one steps forward. “If only I were a fire fighter.” “If only I had training.” “They do not want my help." "I do not know what I am doing.” “My asthma might flare up.” “I don‘t know them.” “I am too afraid to help.” The excuses are endless. The reasons are lame. Anyone can raise a ladder. Turn on a water hose. Throw up a rope. But no one moves. The fire department finally shows up…
but it is now too late.

Our world is on fire. Every second more souls step into eternity: 107 people a minute. 6390 people
an hour.153,000 a day.

How many of these souls are stepping into eternity without God? The Christians watch
in shock. “I am not a pastor." "I am not a missionary." "I have no training." "Maybe they don’t
want my help." "I don’t know them." "I am too afraid.” The excuses are endless.

The reasons are lame. It is time for the church to step up to the plate…and you and I are the church. The Great Commission is written to the church. Yes, it is written to pastors. Yes, it is written to missionaries. Yes, it is written to mission boards and church leaders. Yes, the Great Commission
is written to you. You may not be called to leave your home or your profession and devote your
life to full-time Christian service. But, you are called to serve as a full-time Christian as you
share the love of Jesus right where you are. It does not require you to have a degree. It simply
requires a heart willing to step up to the plate. It does not require you to be an eloquent teacher.
It simply requires a heart willing to share what God has done in your life. It does not require you to know all the answers. It simply requires a heart willing to care.

The world is on fire. Christians are watching in shock. We are the fire department. But we have forgotten our call. The excuses are endless. The reasons are lame. The cost is eternal. Another
man’s soul is at stake. Will you answer the call for help? Will you step outside your comfort zone
and share the love of Jesus with someone you have never met? Will you cast out your fear by
loving with His perfect love?

The house on fire could be yours. Your family could be lost. Your soul was once waiting to be
cast into a great fire. Someone loved you enough to answer the call. Someone cared enough to
share His Love. Will you do the same? Will you hoard God’s Message and Love all to yourself?
Or, will you let the living waters of God’s Love flow through your heart to bring life to many? 
We are His voice. We are His hands. We are His heart. Now is the time to act. The need is great.
The call is clear. The time is short.

Go. Share His love. Today.
